  • Ellen Maracle Benton - Owner, President, Senior Planner, Executive Director

    As Executive Director of the Canadian Property Tax Association from 1984 to 1995, the Canadian Pain Society from 2005 to 2014, the Ontario Long Term Care Clinicians from 2013 to present, plus the Canadian Academy of Pain Management from 2007 to present (contracted to 2026), Ellen brings to the company extensive experience in the Association field.

    CPTA: The office management and annual national conference planning were her responsibility each year for the CPTA of 450+ members and managed the Canadian Pain Society membership of 875+, as well as their annual conference of 500+ attendees, including the planning, selling and management of the Exhibitor and Sponsorship platforms from 2003 to 2014 inclusive. This Exhibitor and Sponsorship Platform held major pharmaceutical involvement in both booth presence, symposia and sponsorship such as Pfizer Canada, Purdue Pharma, Johnson & Johnson, Merck Canada, Eli Lilly etc. It was critical to be able to manage and adapt to the ever-changing requests and demands of these higher level partners. Through our efforts, a partnership between CPS and each of these grew annually and more profitable each year.

    Within the Canadian Pain Society, they also had several Special Interest Groups, which is also managed by Ellen and her team, including tracking revenues and expenses and providing conference planning services, exhibit and sponsorship sales annually and/or plan meetings for these groups. The most active group was the Education Special Interest Group, where Ellen and her team planned and managed a “Chronic Pain Refresher Course” for five years – 2009 – 2012 and then in 2014

    ADVANTAGE ONTARIO: Ellen also currently works with AdvantAge Ontario, starting in 1997 and is currently still working with them. Events In Sync, Inc. provides Exhibit Hall and Sponsorship Management, planning and selling services for their Annual Convention of 500+ people – with the Exhibit Hall selling out annually of 95 booths (maximum capacity) and exceeding sponsorship revenue budget numbers annually.

    CANADIAN ACADEMY OF PAIN MANAGEMENT: Association management for this group since 2007, Events In Sync manages all of its daily workload – membership, finances, member enquiries, website management and updating, course management and marketing.

    ONTARIO LONG TERM CARE CLINICIANS: Since 2013 Events In Sync has managed both their office and annual conferences. Membership is 400+ and the annual conference attracts 375+ each year. During the year the Medical Director Course is now mandated by the Ministry of Long Term Care, so Ellen’s team manages those courses – currently monthly for approximately 60 people per course.

    CANADIAN PAIN COALITION: The management of the Canadian Pain Coalition came to Events In Sync in 2006, providing all office management services and event planning services, including their annual Gala, Marathon organization, across-Canada Mall Information Clinics, organize, attend and exhibit at tradeshows and organize and manage all T-Con and in-person Board Meetings.   • Charles Benton - Vice President, Business Development

    As Vice President of Events In Sync, Inc., Charles has provided the knowledge and expertise, gained from his 30+ years’ experience in the property tax field, by providing solid business development and planning. Charles brings to the company the focus and direction which has been paramount in the successful planning steps from 1996.

  • Krista Hook - Office Manager, Senior Event Planner

    Krista Hook joined Events In Sync, Inc. in May 2010. Krista graduated from Humber College with a Marketing Degree and excelled in both Entrepreneurship and Marketing Plans. She bring to the company an expertise in developing the business further through these skills and experience and also works with clients to help establish their organizations through membership incentive programs and marketing plans. Her ability to work independently and also in a team environment adds to the various office skills that Events In Sync, Inc. can offer clients. Her organizational skills are exceptional and with those skills assist both Events In Sync, Inc. and clients with tradeshow development and attendance, and also day-to-day interactions. Krista also is the Membership Manager for a portfolio of clients, where she is responsible for day-to-day interaction with members, assuring records are up-to-date and accurate and assists clients with their participation in courses, tradeshows and functions. Krista’s interpersonal skills lends itself to creating a link between clients and Events In Sync, ensuring their needs are met through the various components clients may be involved in. Planning of and managing both membership and events are a major role that Krista takes on very successfully. Krista is also well versed in the “EventsAir” Software program that exceeds other programs in the Industry. This program has the sophistication of managing diverse programs, registrations, membership, exhibit and sponsorship portfolios and much more!

  • Karin Podolyak - Event Planning Assistant/Administrator

    Karin Podolyak started with Events In Sync as the Event Planning Assistant/Administrator in 2022. She comes to Events In Sync with several years of administrative and office coordination experience. Karin is a highly organized administrator who brings an ability to problem-solve each day. She received her

    Bachelor of Arts degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and also completed a graduate certificate in Human Resources Management from Durham College.
